Artist Statement
I am a multidisciplinary artist working across graphic design, photography, 2D and 3D animation, and video editing. My work is typically inspired by the world around me—through experience or sensory input—and begins with a single thought or observation that grows throughout my creative process, shedding its simplicity and taking on new meaning and substance along the way. At the heart of everything I make is a desire to tell stories and celebrate imagination, but more than that, I want to invite viewers to look closer and really examine what they see—to pull back the curtain and find something unexpected underneath that they may not have noticed before.
Biography
Based in Manorville, New York, Joseph Belfiore is a multimedia artist pursuing a B.S. in Digital Media at Marist University. He is most drawn to using art as a vehicle for storytelling, primarily through animation and digital painting. Over several years of practice, he has explored a wide range of mediums, embracing unfamiliar methods as a way to continuously grow and develop new skills.
Currently, Belfiore is working on a series of animated projects, from music videos to short films, aimed at deepening his command of the creative process. His work was previously featured in Marist University's Fall 2025 Senior Thesis Exhibition, with this being the second time his work has been showcased.
